Here is Frank. Frank is a zoo keeper.Today he’s moving the lion into a new cage. On his Zoo-o-monitor system Frank can see exactly how much anesthetic is needed and where the lion’s new cage is located. Unfortunately the system contains incorrect information, and Frank ends up at the wrong cage – just in time to realize another data flaw.

But imagine if Frank had paid more attention to the master data, when creating the lion’s profile! If he had ensured common data definitions and been warned about poor data quality, Frank’s destiny could have been different. By focusing on what you do with data, instead of the data itself, you ensure consistency and reliability.
